Your drawings make me happy :aww: And for some reason, I really like the date stamp.

I love my old-school date stamp too. I wanted one after I saw one of last pages of Shaun Tan's Tales from Outer Suburbia. If you haven't got it/read it, get it. Its the best!

I'm glad I brought some light to your day, MissyStar!

I googled the book and I'm definitely going to see if I can get my hands on a copy! ;)

Shaun Tan is my hero. He's done loads of picture books. The great thing about them is they're very deep on a conceptual level - you can look at them again and again and still find tiny nuances of meaning that you'd never noticed before. They're picture books for all ages. He's got a great essay on the subject on his site.

If you still live in brisbane, got to Borders in the city. The suburbia one is on their wall just inside - but you can ask any of the people there and they'd probably be able to show you where it is...

I've had a look at his website and I basically want to own every single book ;P

Unfortunately I don't live in Brisbane :( You guys are so lucky to have Borders, I would practically live there =D It's the best shop!! I'm going to Brisbane next week so I'll see if I can get down there. Cheers Brendan!

Oh sorry - I thought you in brissy.... must've been some other random deviant...

We have far better book store than Borders too - if you're into things that are less mainstream, that is. Folio Books, Avid Reader, Pulp Fiction, the GOMA Bookstore (totally awesome), and other have some really interesting collections.... so it sucks you don't live here. Not to rub it in. No, definitely not. ;P

Sure, suuuuuuure! :evileye:
I hail from Toowoomba, and being the boring city it is we don't have any good bookstores but just the conventional ones, dymmocks, angus&robertson, etc.

I love quaint little secondhand bookshops, they have such a charm to them. :aww: I'm an avid collector of old children's books. ;P (I feel a bit bad about commenting here on your artwork's page oooops)

Oh well Dymocks is quite good actually... but A&G... I steer well clear of them! It is the Today Tonight of bookstores.... ;P. They completely got rid of the popular science collection in my local store... now you can only find a the few remaining science books under 'Religion and Spirituality'. Idiots...

Yeah I love second hand bookstore stores - too you never know what you're going to find... but alas my tastes have changed to expensive art/illustration books that threaten to demolish my bank account...

And don't feel bad! I love to talk with anyone who's interested in art, culture and books! You should take a photo of you're collection in an artsy way and post it here! I was thinking of doing the same with my bookshelf... I've got an eclectic collection of bits and bobs on the top of the bookcase that I'm sure would fascinate you...

Oh and yes... the tree... its still thriving! Though my arm is get tired and my mind bored from the laborious work... hopefully it pays off!
